We Install Solar Hot Water Systems for residential, commercial, agricultural, municipal and non-profit organizations in Pittsburgh. See how Solar Hot Water works below.
Solar hot water collectors work very differently than solar electric. Instead of converting the suns energy into electricity they simply collect the heat from the sun and transfer it into your home's water, replacing your hot water heater.
Liquid is circulated through the panels to collect heat, and then returned to a tank in the home where the heat is again transferred to the domestic hot water supply.
This heats the water in the home using only a circulating pump.
The liquid most commonly used in the collectors is water or Propylene Glycol which is an antifreeze used in many food products like milk shakes etc.
